Gustavo Menezes has been racing for over a decade and is one of the America’s leading talents in motorsport. After beginning his career in the US kart scene, Gustavo was snapped-up by the Red Bull young driver programme and was shipped out to Europe where he became a factory driver for the famous Italian kart team – TonyKart.
In 2011, Gustavo graduated into single-seater motorsport in the US prior to re-crossing the pond to compete in the German F3 championship in 2013. With multiple race wins and a podium on his debut, it was clear Gustavo was ready to take on Europe’s elite in the FIA F3 European Championship in 2014. A pole position at Spa Francorchamps and multiple podiums during the season capped-off a great year for Gustavo , who returned to the series in 2015 with British team Carlin and enjoyed more success which lead to an LMP-2 test with factory team Alpine.
In 2016, Gustavo signed with Signatech-Alpine in LMP2 and found immediate success, winning the Le Mans 24 Hours at his first attempt, and winning the 2016 FIA WEC title. For 2018 Gustavo moved into LMP1 with Rebellion Racing, finishing the Le Mans 24 Hours in 3rd (2018) and 2nd (2020).
Gustavo signed with Peugeot TotalEnergies for their Hypercar project for the 2022 season.
